Odds and Ends

Big news!  Well, big for me.  One of my early posts (The Worst Sales Call Ever) has just been chosen by Top 10 Sales Articles and is re-posted on their site this week.  If you are a new reader and haven't gone back in the archives, I encourage you to click on the link and read it there so as to familiarize yourself with their site.

Does your customer know you are trying to make a sale?  Of course.  Often the seller assumes the buyer is somehow not aware of the seller's desire to transact business and continues to offer feature after feature in a senseless attempt to stumble across the one fact that will cause the process to culminate in a sale.  Understanding the causes of a buyer's hesitancy will shortcut this entire journey as properly pointed out in From the Heart Sales Training.

If you're one of those people that believe everything you read, you'll want to check out Ian Brodie's latest post.  He has been in debunking mode lately and this time he is punching holes in the belief that only those who write down their goals will be successful.

Maybe you'd like to read more sales blogs but you just don't have the time.  Then you simply must spend 30 seconds with Skip Andersen's Selling to Consumers this week.  His posts are often the shortest on the entire net but he somehow conveys lots of information.  Check out the comments, too, as Skip is able to get the best thinkers to expand on his posts.

In addition to writing, I've been working on developing a group on LinkedIn.  This group is for those who sell or buy media or those just interested in being part of a networking group that includes those folks.  The name of the group is Media Sales and I would be happy to include you in the group if you will go to my LinkedIn profile, scroll down to the bottom and click on the group's icon.  While you're there, send me an invite to connect with you.

When you subscribe to this blog you get updated content sent directly to your e-mail address - makes it easy to know when I've posted and you can comment directly from your e-mail, too.  Please consider it and thank you for taking the time to visit this site and read my offerings.
